Vets at Warra today. Usual stableford.
Somehow, we missed all the predicted rain but the wind was quite strong. But the predictions scared players away. 84 were booked in, 69 played.
I had 30 points, 30 putts. Just enough to get a ball.

Played in the DOING IT FOR JARROD day at Leongatha GC on Thursday.in nice bright sunshine and 21 deg.

Format was Gentsomes(a variation of Canadian foursomes). off yellow tees. best 2 stableford scores on each hole count.
play is all hit off then select best ball. (4 tee shots per player minimum) all continue hole from there and score as stableford .
Leongatha is rapidly becoming the best course in South Gippsland and it was fun to play in this charity event with 3 friends.
Not sure what we( team )ended up with as the super computer used a strange algorithm to work out winners.
Overall a fantastic days golf for a good cause and a dry course.
highlight was 2 birdies in a row 3rd and 4th holes from myself with holed long putts
Fishing tonight with son in law then practice at the ranch tomorrow in preparation for Vets game at Lang Lang on Monday (pending the rain stopping for at least 1 day)

Leongatha is a great course, best in Sth Gippy.

I have Vets at Warra tomorrow or I might have joined you at Langy. Only had 5mm rain yesterday but more is expected tonight and tomorrow.

    Stab at Warra yesterday.
They took the 18th hole out of play and put in the recently constructed ‘short game practice area’ labelled as the 19th hole. Order of play was holes 1 – 8 then 19. Second 9 was holes 9 – 17.
    Points: I had 15 & 16 for a 31 total.
Putting was the problem. It seemed like every putt shaved the hole. Front nine had 2 3-putts and on hole 19 a 4-putt, also a chip-in and a couple of 1-putts for an 18 total. Second nine was 2 putts on every hole for another 18 total.
The 19th is ostensibly a 90m par 3. The green is large with extensive bunkers on each side. Laser revealed it was only 65m from tee to the pin but a steep slope up. I was on in 1, pin high, but a long way to go. The green looked ok but is only new and turned out to be rough as guts. Not wanting to go past the pin and into the bunker behind, my first putt was cautious and well short. Second putt hopped and skipped its was to the hole, had a look in and stopped a few feet past. Third putt went straight to the hole then jumped sideways. In with 4 putts. Stories from others suggested there were many 3 putts.

The 19th hole will be most likely be used as shoot out hole for the super 6 tournament in December.

No, the 18th will be used again. A new tee has been built half way down the hill and a grandstand will be constructed behind the the green, same as last year.

    Stab at Warra yesterday.
Putts continued to peek into the hole in lieu of jumping in. Two 1-putts and a 3-putt out, for 17. A single 1-putt on the way back in for another 17.
17 points out, just 12 back in for a 29 point total. Three wipes, one 4-point, one 3-point.

Crippled at the hip by the time I’d finished which possibly explains the poor back nine score. Rest day today.

Why does nobody else report how they’re playing? Perfect golf weather. We’re not all flooded or washed out.

Previous post was supposed to say “inflammation ” not “inflation “.

Stab at Warra yesterday, split 6 format (aggregate, best, multiplication).
Partner had 4 wipes and 28 points, I had 34 points without a wipe, yet we still managed to get balls DTL.
    31 putts for me.

    Vets at Moe yesterday.
First few holes were ok but after that, my hip was giving me grief. Reflected in the scores, just 22 points.

Stab at Warra today. Hip wasn’t quite as bothersome, 26 points, 35 putts.

Do you use anti- inflammatory drugs pre-game? e.g. Meloxicam.
    It helps!
Can you schedule the surgery earlier? After 4 weeks the only discomfort I have is where the incision line is, the joint pain is gone and mobility is restored.

Inflation is not the problem which is bone on bone. That’s why the cortisone was of only short term benefit. No, I don’t usually take pain killers, maybe I should.
I can’t schedule the surgery any sooner. I’m a category 3 (shut up and wait your turn). It took 4 months to get an assessment by the surgeon who puts me in the queue. The queue is 9 months long.

Foursomes at Warra today. Passing showers with sunny breaks inbetween. A bit finer later in the day.

Our handicap was 13.5 which didn’t leave us much room for error. Started with a birdie when I drained a long putt, then just maintained a steady rate. At the turn, we had only used 4 of our handicap but it all went downhill after that. We used up 4 strokes on the 13th when we both failed. The end result was 76.5 which will be too far off the pace to even get a ball.

    Stab at Warra yesterday.
Only two 1-putts on each nine, all the rest were 2-putts. 16+16=32 putts.
    I had three 4-point holes, three 3-points, four 1-points. The other 8 were all 2-points. 20+21=41 points.
Won the day and the mystery six.
My hip was really bothering me all day, interfering with my swing and putting. I don’t know how I could have had a good score with all whingeing.

Match play yesterday. Didn’t play to h’cap, nor even close. Lost 5&4. Saw my opponent on the course today and he said he was playing badly today and I would’ve won. Doubtful.

Stab today. Front nine was good, 20 points. Hip was painful for back nine, 10 points. 33 putts.

Thanks for the advice. Coles & Woolies deliver but you need to buy a heap of stuff to get free delivery. Aldi don’t deliver.

MM, stroke/putting at Beacy yesterday. Weather was fantastic, course in excellent condition, greens were slick.
My score: nett 79, 35 putts. Too many 3-putts (maybe 4). Great company.

    Stab at Warra last Tues.
I had a non-eagle on the 8th. ???? The 8th is a par 5, but they were doing some course works on the side around the dogleg. So a temp tee was set up about 100m from the green. On for 1, in for 3 and 5 points. No prizes for that, nor for the players with an albatross. Still, 20 points out, 12 back for a 32 total with 31 putts.

    Stab at Warra on Thurs.
The odd 4-point and a couple of 3s got my score up to 21 points on the front with 14 putts.
Back nine: only one 3-point, two 1-points for 17 total. A chip-in but two 3-putts for 15 total
38 points, 29 putts and a stroke off my playing h’cap.

    Olinda MM at Beacy today.
