Participantcourses in South Gippsland closed due to the rain, in some parts as much as 90mm over weekend.
This has lead to the South Gippsland Championship being delayed until Sunday 11th September.

ParticipantMM Stroke at Warra yesterday. Shotgun start. I chose the afternoon run, starting on 13 (just a par 3 from the clubhouse).
I was all set to be on for 3 but I pulled my 3rd left into a tree. My ball fell out close to the trunk which completely blocked out the green. Triple bogey to start. A few holes later to the par3 15th. Tee shot left into the deep bunker, out in one but flew the green, nice little chip but the ball wouldn’t stop and continued down a grassy slope. Not wanting to fly the green again, a gentle chip up onto the green but the rotten ball turned around and came back down to me. By this time I’d decided the medal was gone and it didn’t matter any more. So I practised the chip a few more times before getting it right and completed the hole with a nine.
So, that was definitely the end of my medal attempt. Later in the round I had a birdie and a number of pars, finishing with a nett 76 which somehow got 3rd place in C grade.
Also, that was 2 strokes better than the flag which dropped off the bottom of my last 20, costing me .2 and a stroke off my ‘cap.Edit: My total putts was 29 after a 3-putt on our last hole.

ParticipantStab at Warra yesterday.
I started really well with a chip in on the first, drained a single long putt on the 2nd but then 3-putted the 3rd.
Overall: 31 putts (14/17), 32 points (16/16).Now miscore has forgotten all my rounds including yesterday’s.

ParticipantStab at Warra yesterday. 28 points, 33 putts. If I didn’t have so many lip outs, the points to putts ratio would have been much closer. Conditions were good, no rain, gentle breeze, course was dry.
I have 5 flags dropping out in my next six rounds, so golflink will probably throw the anchor soon.People say that nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day.

ParticipantPar at Beacy yesterday, first round for some weeks.
I crashed heavily on my right knee onto concrete just over a week ago and have been unable to play. But on Thur night I stretched my leg out while in bed, something popped in the knee and it started working again. It’s still sore but nothing like what it had been for the preceeding week. Right hip is still giving me grief though.
So, with some trepidation, it was off the Beacy. Warra was having a bout of ‘too wet for carts and ride-ons’ so that was out. How’d I play? Not all that bad. With all handicapping based on stableford scoring, you start a par round with 18 points and add to that as you go around. A half will earn another point and a win gets two points.
With a few wins and a few halves, my first nine came in with -2, bringing my points tally up to 25. Draining a few long putts had helped. Unfortunately that skill deserted me for the back nine with heaps of lip outs and a -5 for a -7 total and 29 points into golflink.
I probably should have taken some pain management pills with me but, unlike so many other oldies who pop pills to get through their second nine, I didn’t think of that.People say that nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day.

ParticipantPar at Warra yesterday.
I like to have my stab points exceed my putts but that hasn’t been happening at all recently.
My result of -6 equates to 30 points which happened to equal my 30 putts.People say that nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day.

ParticipantStab at Warra yesterday.
Two 3-putts, only four 1-putts = 34 putts.
Two wipes, only two 3-points, heaps of 1-points for a 28 point total.I have only one flag in my last 10 rounds, all the others being older. Four flags to drop off in my next four rounds.

ParticipantI thought of playing the Vets at Langy yesterday, but my golf is rubbish until I get a steel hip sometime next year.
Due to forecast rain for today, a few of us had a practice round yesterday.
Like CB80 I had four 3-putts for a 35 putt total. 29 stab points with a couple of Mulligans.Radar shows that the rain is about to hit now.

ParticipantStab at Warra yesterday.
Four 3-putts caused three wipes, partly rescued by a chip-in 4-point on the 9th to turn on 16 points, 16 putts.
Back nine saw another 16 points with 17 putts. The 10th was one of those 3-putt wipes.Overall that was somewhat better than many recent attempts.

ParticipantMM stroke at Warra today.
Freezing (literally) to start the day. Fog on course cut visibility to 50m for two hours, then the sun finally broke through for the second nine.
How’d I play? Just more rubbish. 38 putts: four 3-putts, only two 1-putts. Nett 82.People say that nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day.

ParticipantStab at Warra yesterday. Played a little better than recently.
Putting: three 3-putts, only four 1-putts = 35.
Points: only one wipe but also only two 3-points, total 29 points. That’s the last five rounds without a flag and only two in the last 10 rounds.People say that nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day.

ParticipantStab at Warra last Thurs. 7 out, 13 back for a total of 20.
Putts refused to drop, two 3-putts but only one 1-putt = 37.Another stab at Warra today with slightly better results.
12 out, 11 back for 23 points. Three wipes, three 3-point pars and a heap of 1-points.
33 putts.I can’t see any forthcoming improvement with a hip that keeps jabbing me. By the time that gets fixed, I’ll need everything else replaced.

ParticipantMultiplication stableford at Warra yesterday. No prizes there.
Individually, neither of us did well.
I had two 3-putts and one chip in for a 31 putt total.
I had one wipe, only two 3-points and just 1 point on 10 holes for a 26 point total. Partner had 26 as well.
My hip is giving me grief. Drives are down to around 150m, iron distances are also well down and putting is crap.People say that nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day.

ParticipantA break in the weather yesterday meant a round of golf. Stab at Warra of course.
A bit chilly first up: -1.7°, but it had thawed by the time we started.
I was a bit rusty to start with three wipes, ably assisted by a 3-putt on the first. Then it all settled down except the ball was going nowhere. Another wipe on 7 where my chips up to the green kept coming back.
A stunning result of 8 points for the front nine.
Back nine was better. I even managed a 3-point par on 15 and accumulated another 18 points for a 26 point total.

ParticipantMM stroke at Warra yesterday.
Played the front nine quite well with a nett 36, but the wheels fell off for the next 4 holes.
Two 3-putts for a 30 putt total.
Nett total of 79.We teed off at 1:00 and when we got back at 5:00 it was nearly dark.
