And here I am complaining that the internet makes my battery go flat, that really puts it all into perspective.

Lest you forget (about the battery). The battery was on the way out, but all the excessive ads showed it up.

A bit of discussion on the news about AFL restarting in isolated groups, staying in quarantined hotels, etc.
Good luck to them, I hope they enjoy playing their games and actually earning their megabucks.

Then the question arose of close relatives also staying with the players. The poor buggers might get a bit lonely and stressed living apart.

What about those who went off to war, not only away from home for years, but also being shot at on a regular basis and living in poor conditions. Not to mention those in POW camps. (Sorry, I had to mention them.) While I’m mentioning the obvious unfortunates, I’ll include those who died or returned with severe injuries. Lest we forget. Spare a thought for their loved ones at home who hoped, against long odds, that their fighters would come home.

Now let’s get back to those whingeing footballers who might be away from their families for a few months and their worst fears are a football injury or a virus that is highly unlikely to prove fatal to them, being young, strong and super fit.
    How worrying and stressful. Wimps.

I would go so far as to say

and thinking of you, #TeamGrank and all your Mexican brothers fraternity and their families today too.

    Absolutely shocking news.

Shame about the poor coppers and their families.
WTF was the truckie doing, momentary lack of concentration, fell asleep? A simple mistake and he’ll be in the can for 20 years.
As for the crim in the Porsche, he jumped the fence. If he was still locked up, none of that would’ve happened.

And who is going to go around and re-rate the courses to allow for this to take place. Don’t know about other States, but from what I have seen in NSW, those courses that do have multiple tee system all play off the one index rating for the respective coloured tee. They do not have a ladies tee rating in place.

Some years ago when the USGA course ratings were kicking off and the Olinda club was playing at Emerald, I was somehow given the job of filling in the questionnaire about what ratings we wanted.
Looking to the future, I said we wanted blue, white & red for both men and women. Allowing for both scratch and bogey ratings, that was 12 all up. All we got was blue for men and red for women.

    Not that it matters now.

Finished Ozark a few nights ago…WOW, what an ending to season 3, can’t wait until they release the next season!

Currently on episode 7 of Tiger King.

Ok Barnesy, you’ve started me on Ozark. 1 ep done, around 30 to go. Should keep me busy until golf resumes.
Went to Aldi this am and picked up a 65″, then spent 3 hours, unwiring the old collection of devices, dusting, cleaning and restoring the ‘system’, but I left out a HDD and an old pvr, neither of which I’ve used for years.

Reported on the TV news last night on screen that the total infections for Aust was “0.00002%” but the chic reporter read that as “point zero zero zero zero two of one percent”. Must have been employed for her looks.

well this comment sort of doesn’t necessarily help with whole IQ banter xman is running with, but still, good try for all involved

Yeah, ok. But I think she’s Victorian which goes against Xman’s theme. Then again, she was probably broadcasting from Brisbane.

Thereby increasing the average IQ of both States.

How’s the golf going in your state at the moment?
It’s been beautiful weather that the golfers up here are playing in at the moment, but that’s really no different to normal.

The golf here is fine. Or at least it would be.
We’re all going nuts yet it’s been less than a month so far.

My rain guage shows 100mm so far this month, only a third in. But that’s three times all of last April.

I haven’t hit a bad shot in nearly 3 weeks!

If this goes on for much longer, I may just turn pro.

Have you hit any good shots?

    Of course. I’m of singles.

Are you as good as Portnoy?

Or take up bowls. Oh, can’t do that either.

I noticed, while driving to somewhere essential, that the local bowls club has been completely dug up. Making good use of the lay-off time for a re-build.

Today is officially work day 16 of isolation. We were notified to work from home on 13th March. So this is the start of week 4.

Things seem to be working ok – we use conferencing a lot anyway, so no real change there.

And it’s difficult to see this changing in the next few months, really. My wife has been working from home for nearly 2 weeks now, my adult aged children are doing Uni from home. The dog has had the living shit walked out of him!

We’ve been told we need to book a couple of weeks of leave – one over Easter, and another before the end of September. Now whilst there’s not much at the moment we can do with that leave, I’m just happy that I’ve still got a job and getting paid in the current environment.

I would really like to get out on the course sooner rather than later, though. I suspect the 19 in COVID will be the amount of kilos I stack on in the iso state. I think I’m 2 up as I type. Sad face.

Contrary to you, I’ve been losing weight and I’m allergic to exercise except for golf.
I put it down to not having a few schooners every couple of days and no social get togethers. 3kg so far.

If, as they say, immunisation is at least a year away, then we will all get this virus at some point.
Considering how rampantly infectious the virus is and if left to run in the wild, we would soon swamp our medical facilities. Hence the need to flattern the curve so that our requirements for hospitalisation are kept under control.
So, keeping the infection rate at a gradual pace, the sooner we all get infected and over it (hopefully not dead), the sooner we can all get our lives back in order.

I wonder how it will all pan out.

Last heard, he was trying to create some rose, in lieu of drinking in.
