    Stab at Warra today.
A bit of a change from Tues. Still no 3-putts or wipes, but eleven 1-putts. I think that’s my best putting round ever.
20/20 for 40 points. Won the day.

And now you don’t have to.
There’s a ‘temporary’ link that doesn’t require logging in. Just see the goIf.org.au opening screen.

Am i the only one? I cant seem to login on my PC via edge but am fine using chrome via my mobile.

Upgrade it to Edge-Chrome or Chrome-Edge (whatever they’re caĺling it) and you’ll then be using chrome.

Stab at Warra today. Actually it was “split sixes” (6 x BB, 6 x aggregate, 6 x multiplication), but the pro shop staff, rather than explaining anything, just say ‘the computer works it out’. So we all just complete a stableford card and lodge it.

I had 16&18 for 34 points, no wipes, no 3-putts, only two 1-putts. Partner had less so we’re miles down the pecking order.

    Oldies’ 9-hole this morning.
The greens had been mown but were still shaggy and dead slow. 17 points

    74m

I get it out there, baby.

    That is GPS validated folks

And it handed me one of life’s greatest moments – getting to see the Goldman run after his ball to try and hit it before we could measure it

    Pricelesa

That happened at a BHIC as well, but I got the laser measurement.
With my fading memory, I’ve forgotten who the unfortunate player was.

A number of hall of shame shots from the BHIC days (what ever happened to this prestigious tournament ?).
Robnewys shot between legs into the garden bed next to tee still remains the leader
closely followed by Fe Mick same shot a year later.

What happened to it? Well, the course decided that they would replace two fairways (Hills 1 & 3), so the BHIC committee decided to postpone the 2019 event until Feb, which has now just about been and gone.

All it meant on those two fairways was that you dropped your ball off the side of the fairway and played on. It was only a problem for those who actually hit fairways.

    Stab at Warra yesterday.
Front nine was ok, included a wipe but still 17 points.
Back was less than ok, two wipes, 13 points.
Only six 1-putts, but also two 3-putts. At least the greens had been mown but were still shaggy, lumpy and dead slow.

    Stab at Warra today.
Playing off 16, there’s two no-shot holes and I happily parred them both today. I usually wipe them.
    I also had a 4-point birdie, six 1-putts and a 3-putt.
    36 points.
The greens were cored last Monday week and haven’t been mown since. Shaggy was an understatement. But with recent storms, ground staff have been very busy removing fallen timber and other debris. For longer putts today, I used a hybrid.

I have achieved my eoy goal with an index of 17.0

Forgive my ignorance, but what does a index of 17.0 mean O.B.?

GA index is your GA handicap = the starting figure for calculating your playing handicap for wherever you plan on playing.

Vets at Deep Creek (the venue formerly known as Pakenham) today.
Heavy storm activity was promised but didn’t eventuate until we’d all finished. We had a few drops a few times but not enough to get wet.

The new layout is quite good, unless you’re walking, where there’s a few long hikes to the next hole. More signs are needed.
Course quality was good although I found the greens somewhat slow.

I had 16 & 17 points for a 33 total. A few wipes in there (maybe 3?). Seven 1-putts. One 3-putt when the ball snicked the flag stick and slipped out.

    Pennant at Morwell today.
Interestingly, handicaps matched exactly across both teams so no ‘strokes given’ anywhere.
We started on the 8th hole and halved our first five holes, then I lost one.
More halves and a few losses until I put a huge slice on the par 3 2nd hole and lost the ball, going dormy 5.
I finally won a hole (4th), then halved the next to go down 4&3.

Back to ‘normal’ golf, whatever that is, at Deep Creek next Tuesday.

Correction: I won the 3rd hole, then halved the 4th.

No comp today due to storm damage yesterday.
Pennant tomorrow. Hopefully that course is playable.

Ventured over to Garfield for today’s stab round.
Just couldn’t get my act together today. I had some good drives but too many stuff ups. While I had a number of 1-putts (didn’t actually count them), and no 3-putts, I lost too many shots between the drives and greens. Three wipes: one was just rubbish, a sliced drive OOB and a drive into the creek.
    25 points.

I neglected to mention how good the course is currently.
The greens were really good, although a bit slower than what I’m used to. Not a bad thing on those with a steep slope.
The fairways were really good, a pleasure to play from.
The rough was a bit rough, but it is supposed to be.
