Ummm I think the PMG and I can do this…… I think
Will only be days 3 and 4
    PMG is retired….. wish I was…. currently working 50 to 60 hours a week
So the only way is to leave Coona early Saturday morning and be there in time for hit off at the Vintage and back home after golf on Sunday so one can be at work at 6.30am on Monday….
    Will confirm

As much as it pains me I agree with Barnacle …… can see no way at present that the game could take place on the 18th September given the current events in Sydney and surrounds….
Options are wait until travel is allowed and then play
    Postpone until next year
    Or
All those who want to play in the event do so by playing a round at there local on Saturday 18th and send Barnacle a pic of their card and a donation to Beyond Blue and a winner is declared…. True it won’t be a gathering and one and all would miss the cake provided by the good lady Chris, oh and the heart starter nip of something but it would still be a way of honoring and remembering PJ
Just need to find my golf game in-between now and then

    Well it is like this
Can do Sundays if it is an early hit off, wish Magenta was the option over other venue
Need to be home Sunday night as I reckon by that time of year we will be starting work at the killing fields at 5.30am

Yesterday….. checked what trail balls I had in car….. Bugger The Smiling Assassin had Ball 1, the PMG had Ball 3, The creek had Ball 2 so I had Ball 4 to use….. Had been leaving this to last as after conversations with Boz he reckoned this would be the best ball….. So that decision was made….. Back and mind were now in agreement that one could actually pivot during swing so off we went into the unknown…..
Front nine played to my handicap….. did notice that the ball was for some unknown reason attracted to trees….. worked out putting speed and was confident….
Back nine WOW…. 5 pars and 24 points later…… nearly had to handicap myself for an exceptional round…. 42 points for the day, back survived and one was a clear clubhouse leader….
The ball, yep Boz was right it is different to his other balls……
    Why you ask
Boz’s balls usually have some roll out on greens, this ball when one hits lob wedge/sand wedge etc well props and stops… doesn’t spin itself stupid like but definitely dances around on landing…… WOW
So after hitting numerous tree’s, all but on two occasions getting away with a par it is a great ball.
Solid of tee, solid of fairways and excels around greens….. it is workable managed to baby draw and fade it as required and once speed control was worked out on greens was given another tick of approval….

Next week back to some revaluation of balls used previously,,,, more than happy with what one has to try out for the man and looking forward to the future with other new balls that are in the wings

Okay more to the story of testing the new balls……
4 weeks ago I used ball number 2…… At end of round I thought I am not sure about this ball. I had 34 points with it but weather conditions on the day made it hard to judge….. was cool and windy and then to make things more exciting we had a thunderstorm that meant a quick retreat to shelter for 40 minutes and the I was wt the course was wet and the greens had changed in speed….

The next week at work was a joe crocker…. EPA rang and said they had an anonymous complaint about Abattoir waste being spilled onto road….. FARK ME…. last person at work went for a drive to try and find site and what spill was….. located scene ….. paunch split out of truck onto road…. Fark me ….. did a basic clean up that afternoon, followed by an attempt the next day that failed and finally on day 3 with help of local volunteer fire brigade got road cleaned up….. involved them wetting road, me sweeping…. EPA happy….. back stiff as…..

Back to golf…. Saturday after the week that was attempted to play golf and re-evaluate ball…. that didn’t work out well…. back gave out and after 9 holes retreated home to heat packs and drugs…..
Monday got to work at 5.00am to find out there was a staff shortage…… bugger….. Had to do wash bay to help out killing fields…. after washing, weighing and pushing 280 squealers back was in a real state…… not happy Jan

So as a result the past few weeks of golf has been a case of arm balling the golf ball around……. and then there was yesterday……..

As much as I would like to play the killing field stands in the way……
The PMG and I will get together and have a quiet drink or 2 in PJ’s honor
As a side note I have been requested to be part of the handicapping team and have access to GolfLink again… if that helps

So this is a change …… Our towns dam on Friday……. Gone from 16% 2 weeks ago to full…..
Might be allowed to use a hose for the 1st time in 2 1/2 years….
Town has recorded 344mm’s of rain this year
Airport which is 10kms from town 416mm’s
    Everything is green
Golf course is turning green however grass is at present very clumpy but it is spreading…. been mown high to encourage the spread factor….. make playing interesting but it is the same for one and all….
Parts of the course are still covered in silt from the don pours and creek breaking its banks, a few bunkers need to have some sand put back in them but considering the way the place looked a couple of months ago it is really a case of chalk and cheese..

local farmers have grass/weeds/burs etc growing in abundance and have been able to stop feeding whatever stock they have left after the drought, maybe that is a brave call….. Yes it is green, dams are full and looks good at present but as to what the water table actually is, that is another question altogether….. hopefully it is not turning into a green drought …

But for the time being it does look good

So how’s the course looking Peg??

There is a rumour going around that for the 1st time in getting onto to 3 years the gang mowers were used to mow the fairways….
Will take some pics today…… hopefully my swing is not self isolating like it has been

    9th-green

So it can rain a bit
This is looking from 9th green
There are patches of green on fairway and after torrential thunderstorm some water as well

Will be interesting to see what it looks like in a couple of weeks
