ParticipantGood luck! As long as you manage to keep the ball in play off the tee (most of the time) breaking 90 should be achievable with the mindset you have sounds like. Just remember to practice your short game as well and not just pound balls at the range!
I’ve broken par a few times and my swing is not exactly a thing of beauty. (Just ask the poor souls that have had to put up with me at ISG and L4G events.)

ParticipantRemember the people that argued that using a laser rangefinder would slow down rounds?
Seriously, there are literally hundreds of occasions during a round when you have the 10-20 seconds (worst case) available to do the scoring in the app. I’ve been using Golfshot for a loooong time and even with inputting a bunch of stats it doesn’t take more than 10 seconds per hole worst case. Including unlocking the phone.
Adapt to change, don’t resist.

ParticipantI think we all need to be realistic and realize that there is a possibility of major restrictions being brought back across all states depending on what happens over the next few months.
I get the feeling that a lot of people think we’re through the worst but unfortunately we might just have seen the beginning of it.

ParticipantAltered Carbon is pretty good. Not as good as the books as usual but worth a watch if you don’t mind ultra violent SciFi.
And if you happen to have Amazon Prime I would recommend The Expanse, great show!

ParticipantWell, part of getting below 5.6 is that it was the hcp I had in Sweden before we moved to Australia. Maybe my new long term goal should be to get to my lowest hcp ever? Which means 2.9 or lower. The difference between 5.3 and 2.9 is quite significant though so I’ll have to think about that for a while since this is supposed to be all about achievable goals…

ParticipantWollongong still open. The last three weekends I’ve shot 74 ( 39 points), 74 (38 points) and once again today 74 (38 points.) Starting to wonder if three hour rounds with the flagsticks in might be the sh*t.

ParticipantThis is almost a no-brainer to me. Just looking at the number of players in the monthly medal at Wollongong that have no business playing off the black tees. We have a bunch of holes that are difficult to reach even for mid handicappers. (3rd is over 200 meters par 3, 13 is 420 meters par-4 not mention almost all the par 5 holes are very long from the black tees.)

ParticipantYeah, I wouldn’t be too surprised if we end up not having the Nats this year. If (or rather when) we go into lockdown mode it is not going to be for a few weeks. It will have to be for months.
