    Palmer Coolum off 10 today
    17 and 15 for 32
86 effectively off the stick but wiped 10 before reaching the green

3 birdies on the former PGA course was the good news
Only 4 pars though so plenty of not good

What a course though – you feel the pressure on every shot
    Water on most holes
    Challenging off the tee
Almost never a wide safe zone anywhere although it’s not super tight
Plenty of places you don’t want to miss on the approaches
Plenty of bumps and angles on the greens

The greens were pretty average after being cored 3 weeks ago
But it’s a great golf course

Haven’t played there since they changed the layout, or basically since Palmer became involved. Back in the day I always had a 10th tee start into a heavy southeaster, or so it seemed. Real tough first three holes with that wind.

Wynnum off Blues temporary course today playing off 7!
It’s a strange thing when I can walk off disappointed with a 10 over 80 but there you go

Putted badly and didn’t get up and down much
    Long game was pretty solid

    2 birdies 7 pars 6 bogies 3 doubles
    6 over 4 front for 16 points
    4 over 40 back for 17 points

    5/13 + 5 close for fairways
Dropped 1 shot with a hook off 1
But got 1/2 back with great drive on 7 leaving me 40m out

    10 GIR
Dropped 1 shot with a 6 iron hook off 6
Got 1/2 back with LW pitch to 6ft on 7 which I dropped for birdie

    3/10 up and down
    5 dropped

    34 putts
Dropped 3 with 3 putts, 2 with short misses and made 1 up with a 20 footer for birdie on 4

Disappointed with the putting but overall a pretty decent performance

Was supposed to play there Friday week ago, when we couldn’t get on Redcliffe, but the other three didn’t want to play there.

I was also told by the Assistant Pro that the greens had only been renovated a week before which didn’t help matters. How were the greens when you eventually found them?

The long term impacts are going to be shocking now we havs moved from flatten the curve to elimination – which I think NZ demonstrates is not possible

The health approach is the easier sell when you post daily stats and everyone parrots the “How many deaths are acceptable ” line as if death is not inevitable and we haven’t been discussing tge merits of euthanasia for decades

I’m extremely concerned for the medium term for this state, and the whole country

Over a year later and it’s deja vu all over again…..

I think that’s a key part of it Commish
I think soft ground under the ball will have an impact but clean contact is the most important thing

I think soft balls is the problem:)

Much better today at McLeod, but off 12 off the blues which certainly helps

    2 birdies 5 pars 7 bogies 4 doubles
    4 over 42 19 points front
    7 over 42 16 points back

6/13 fairways – dropped 1 driver and 1 hybrid into trees – both pushes
Started to get my driver back online towards the end of the round – got aligned right was I think the main help

6 GIR, 5 Texas – dropped 4 shots from poor irons and 2 from poor punches, but +1 for a 7i to 5ft for birdie and +1 for LW 3rd shot to 6ft for par

    4/10 up and down – 4 1/2 dropped
    1 drop 1/3 from sand
    1 1/2 drop LW chips
    2 drop Texas 3/5
Very happy with that as also had 4 pitches in the 40m range and 3/4 were good and gave me some shot at par after poor approaches for 3 of them and a birdie chance for the other

    30 putts – 3 1/2 dropped – 1 3 putt and 3 short misses

Happy generally but need to keep that driver straighter

    Sheila’s course – figures!

Well done keeping your composure despite three bad holes

Thanks. If bad holes ruin your composure golf is going to be a very tough sport! They are so common!

yet you see it so often when a player loses his cool after a bad shot and carries on seething for quite a while. Unless of course it helps him focus maybe, I doubt it does however.

    I agree

Lose it for a minute to get through it, but if you hold on and keep being shitty it won’t be good for your game

I know from experience that if you lose it for a year or more, it definitely isn’t good for one’s game.

25 (6W 1×1) – what can I say…..I stunk the place up. Did manage a par on 18 to square the match for of only two 3 pointers.

You must have been pumped up playing with me and Bump – you’ve struggled since!

Didn’t want to totally embarrass myself is all……

30 (2W 6×1 35 putts) – Extremely wet underfoot and hot and sultry, but we were at least able to play, unlike most Brisbane area courses. Weatherwise more of the same tomorrow – and we’ll do it all over again:)

4BBB Stroke in the Charles Earp Jug (an absolutely champion bloke) and our net 70 was just a touch away from the three way countback of the 61s…….

I played real, real bad which had nothing to do with the constant drizzly rain and extremely wet conditions underfoot. The full swing yips came back big time along with a dose of very poor putting.

Still, it was a day away from work.

Stableford at St. Andrews Beach yesterday. Shotgun start from 4 different tees. Playing off the 18th and 13 hcp for the day.

    Front 9 – 17
    Back 9 – 18

    35 points with 3 wipes

It could have been a lot better but unfortunately not too many GIR. I did scramble very well and save a lot of pars by getting up and down Putting was very good for a change. Heidleberg next week.

I think I can see what your problem is – you never seem to play the same course twice. A little familiarity might kick along the scores and reduce the cap……just a thought:)

    You are a lucky man!

Luck has nothing to do with good looks and talent……
